IRS Audit Protection for Business Tax Returns

Request protection for eligible federal business income-tax returns. Start with the type of return your business files, then review audit-related protection with a broker. Currently serving California.

Selecting an option takes you to the next question.

Licensed in California

Menlo Insurance Services is the filed name of Opero Labs Inc. California license #6020106.

Eight brokers, one team

Our eight brokers work together as one Menlo team, so you can reach a person who understands your account.

Independent brokerage

We hold appointments with multiple carriers, so the quote is shopped rather than served from one shelf.

Match the protection to the business return

The initial request covers corporate and partnership returns: Forms 1120, 1120-C, 1120-S and 1065. The program describes an audit-triggered payment and reimbursement of eligible defense costs. The covered returns, payment terms and exclusions need review before purchase.

Return type and tax years

Identify the business return and the filed tax years you want reviewed. Keep the filing dates and tax preparer's information available.

Federal income-tax audits

The documented protection addresses IRS income-tax audits. State, sales, payroll and other non-federal tax audits are excluded.

Existing notices and filing history

Pre-existing audits and unfiled or late returns are excluded. Disclose any IRS notice and relevant filing issues during the review.

Questions we get asked

Can this cover an audit already underway?

The documented program excludes pre-existing audits. Tell the broker about any existing notice so it is not mistaken for a new covered event.

Does this request include personal tax returns?

This initial form is for corporate and partnership returns. Individual returns with business or rental income require a separate review; do not select a business return type that you do not file.
